Help Make Children’s Play 0% VAT
We’re supporting the Association of Indoor Play (AIP) and its national campaign to make children’s play more affordable.

At Snakes & Ladders, we know how important affordable opportunities to play are for children and families. With the rising cost of living, many families are increasingly having to make difficult choices about how they spend their money, and days out and activities can quickly become an added expense.
That’s why we’re proud to support the Association of Indoor Play (AIP) and its 0% VAT on Children’s Play campaign, calling on the Government to introduce a 0% VAT rate for children’s indoor play.
Why 0% VAT matters
Indoor play centres currently have to charge VAT on admissions. Removing VAT from children’s play would help operators to reduce the cost of admission, making indoor play more accessible to families who may currently be priced out.
It could also help ensure that children continue to have access to safe, active and engaging places to play, socialise, explore and use their imagination.
Every signature counts
The AIP is calling on the whole indoor play community to get behind the campaign — including businesses, employees, suppliers and, most importantly, the families who use indoor play centres.
There are important milestones for the petition:
- 10,000 signatures – the Government will respond to the petition.
- 100,000 signatures – the petition will be considered for debate in Parliament.
- 200,000 signatures – the AIP’s target for the campaign.
The more signatures the petition receives, the stronger the message to Government that affordable children’s play matters to families across the UK.
